T-Mobile USAs decision to close seven call centers, employing 3,300 workers, is a bad one. It harms workers and communities, and in several locations, abuses taxpayers who provided funds to the company in exchange for employment and economic development.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced today that its investigation into the death of Verizon technician Douglas Lalima who was electrocuted while working on a utility pole in Brooklyn last September has resulted in 10 citations against Verizon and fines totaling 0,700 for serious and repeated failures by the company to abide by critical safety rules. The fines in the citation are the maximum penalties under the law for such egregious conduct.

NABET-CWA and NBC Universal have entered into an agreement that would provide for the assignment of the Unions members to certain broadcasts airing on the Companys NBC Sports Network cable channel. This new agreement comes less than one month after NABET-CWA members ratified a new national contract at the NBC Television Network and its TV stations in New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Los Angeles.
