Prince of Persia Classic released for iPhone

    iphone news

Probably has something to do with the forthcoming high-profile film, but rather the owners of the iPhone will have a nostalgic meeting with one of the best games for mobile platforms ever created. Iglezhda Prince of Persia classic will be in the App Store sometime in late June. For those unfamiliar with the game, Prince of Persia is a platform title that came to light during the 80’s along with other classic games like Super Mario Brothers, but clearly distinguished from them because of its beautiful graphics, smooth animation and rewarding battle system. A team of Ubisoft will take care to leave the game for the iPhone, but there a whole new generation of gamers’ s to come.

  • HTC Evo 4G set to be released June 4th

Submitted to us from our SU Member: DannyNYC

    —————————————————————————————–

Quite possibly the biggest announcement in Sprint’s history – Sprint gets ready to grace us all with the HTC EVO 4G. Available June 4th for purchase at 9.99, it’s currently available for pre-order from the usual suspects: Sprint stores Best Buy, and Radio Shack. So what’re you waiting for? Get your order in and show it off on June 4th!

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, here are just some of the unbelievable specs of this behemoth of a phone: 1 GHz Snapdragon Processor, 4.3 inch screen – making this the biggest of all Android powered devices. 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording, It’ll be released with android 2.1 – wont be long till we see the much anticipated 2.2 aka Froyo, running on this bad-boy, out-of-the-box 8gb micro SD card.

Oh, did we mention the 4G Wimax network? Or the 1.3mp camera on the front for video conferencing? (Presumably via the Qik application), or how about the kickstand? To watch videos or to take advantage of Sprint TV

Check out the full feature list on Sprint’s website

A few pictures have leaked of the Evo’s box, which is also pretty diesel itself; there’s been some speculation as to what’s in the box. Recently, a picture leaked on the Android forums this guy’s coming with: “Standard Lithium Ion Battery (1500mah), Phone Charger, USB Cable (micro), 8 GB memory card, Getting started Guide (English and Spanish), Basics Guide, and recycling envelope”

Not anything we haven’t seen before. Also, no mention of the rumored car dock.

So, with all of the ground breaking features and ridiculous power of The HTC Evo 4G, is it too early to say bye-bye iPhone?

    I for one – don’t think so.

    Stay tuned.

  • Update Released for Swype Beta

There’s no denying that the hot Android keyboard of the moment is Swype.  Pre-loaded on a handful of devices (Cliq XT, myTouch 3G Slide), it is one of those apps that stays with you.  Once you’ve had a chance to use Swype, all other keyboards feel slow and rather vanilla.  Fortunately for some, Swype has released a beta of their app to a lucky group of testers.  Today sees them announcing a new version of the beta and adding a load of improvements and tweaks.

Below is a list of changes found in this version of Swype beta.  Some are going to be more noticeable than others.  Take for instance the automatic apostrophe insertion for words like won’t, don’t, and wasn’t.  Personally, I am very glad to see that make the list.  Others, like bug fixes are generally hidden from plain sight.

    • Added better context sensitivity for the “magic button” (go/search/enter/smiley)
    • Added automatic apostrophe insertion for contractions (e.g. won’t, don’t, wasn’t, etc)
    • Added the Italian language dictionary
    • Improved sensing of field type to prevent the display and addition of passwords to the UDB (user dictionary)
    • Improved suppression of auto-spacing in fields such as URLs and email addresses
    • Updated the built-in dictionary to include several common words that were previously missing
    • Rewrote some settings descriptions to be more clear on their functionality
    • Fixed licensing issue causing “Limited Functionality” errors when rebooting devices running Android 2.0 and later
    • Fixed licensing issue causing some users to receive an “Incorrect ID” error when installing Swype
    • Fixed a bug where manually typing some words with word-prediction enabled would cause Swype to crash
    • Fixed a bug which caused some words added to the UDB to erroneously override other words when word-prediction is enabled
    • Many other minor bug fixes!

Hopefully we’ll be seeing swype come out of beta and released as a standalone app/keyboard replacement.  How much would you be willing to pay for swype on your phone?
