The buzz is picking up on the idea that Sprint, not Verizon, might be the second wireless carrier to offer the iPhone.
Check out this report pegged to an anonymous Best Buy store employee in Pennsylvania. Kinda thin, eh?
Okay. How about this stock market site’s claim that Walmart is cutting prices on the 3GS iPhone to clear inventory ahead of a 4G capable iPhone coming next month? And who has a 4G network for a 4G-ready iPhone to run on?

Don’t set too much hope on getting a Sprint iPhone, says a MacWorldNews opinion piece on the rumors.
AT&T has a 5-year exclusive deal on the iPhone that won’t expire until 2012, the article said. It may even have gotten an extension!
The writer, Rob Walch, notes that he could be wrong. Maybe Apple will use its June 7 launch of the newest iPhone to deliver what the “popular opinion” says is coming, namely iPhones for Verizon and Sprint.
